About me
Corrie Williamson is American Prairie's Director of Community Outreach. Corrie works to increase awareness, support, and collaboration for American Prairie's conservation mission, with focus areas including the Advisory Board, neighbor relations, American Prairie Field School, and relationships and collaborations with Indigenous communities. Born on a small farm in the foothills of Virginia's Appalachian mountains, Corrie moved to Montana in 2013, where she's worked since in outreach, communication, and education. She served for three years as the Outreach Director at AERO, working with farmers and ranchers around the state, and has been a naturalist and guide in Yellowstone National Park, a crew leader for the Student Conservation Association, and an adjunct professor at Carroll College and Helena College, teaching writing, communication, and environmental studies. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation, and is the author of three award-winning books of poetry.
Scott Heidebrink is Director of Landscape Stewardship at American Prairie, and has overseen their bison program for nearly a decade. Scott’s primary role is leading American Prairie’s Landscape Stewardship program; including developing long-term strategies and goals for infrastructure on the landscape, grazing and bison restoration. He also works closely with neighbors, agencies and partners. Scott joined American Prairie in 2015. Prior to joining American Prairie, he was a Park Ranger, managed recreation areas and campgrounds and did tall-grass prairie restoration work. Originally from Iowa, he has a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from South Dakota State University. Since a young age, Scott has imagined large prairie ecosystems teeming with wildlife.
